"Golden Era of Amelia Island" Walking Tour
The Amelia Island Museum of History is now offering a guided tour titled "The Golden Era of Amelia Island" until May 31. This tour ofFernandina Beach’s north end introduces the players in Amelia Island’s uniquehistory while giving a broad understanding of how our city was affected by national and world events from 1782-1850.
One of the Museum’s popular guides will usher participants down shaded streets and bring history alive in a novel way: by standing on the streets in which it happened, before structures that have remained largely unchanged through epidemic, hurricane, and war. Students and locals will gain a sense of their place in world history. Visitors will enjoy a picturesque and entertaining presentation on our local movers and shakers who names reappear inhistory books worldwide.
